Strengthening our immune system with Aromatherapy
02 April 2020Our immune system is the body's natural defense system that helps fight infections. That's why it's so important to strengthen our immune system that keeps us healthy.
Aromatherapy, which is a sub-branch of complementary medicine based on biological and natural basis, is the use of these plant oils, which are essential oils and carrier (fixed, base, squeezing) oils obtained from plants, in the physical, emotional and spiritual healing treatment. We can support our immune system by using the essential oils we use in aromatherapy correctly and safely.
Essential oils that we can use to support our immune system in this process we are in; Eucalyptus, Tea tree, Mint, Sage, Lavender and Orange oils.
1) Eucalyptus essential oil: It is among the oils used for healing many diseases from the past to the present.
Used for sore throat, cough, cold, sinusitis, bronchitis, seasonal allergies and headache. Along with its anti-bacterial properties, it has benefits such as strengthening the immune system, protecting against infections and improving breathing.
2) Tea tree essential oil: Discovered by New Zealand sailors, tea tree oil is good for many diseases.
It is effective in ending the infection thanks to its anti-bacterial, anti-virus, anti-fungal effects. In addition, it is known to be good for acne, colds, insect bites, itching, sinusitis, migraine and oily skin.
3) Peppermint essential oil: "Menthol" in its content is the component that gives this wonderful oil its anti-bacterial properties.
It is used in the treatment of ailments such as migraine pain, digestive problems, respiratory distress, sinusitis, skin inflammations, itching, nausea and exhaustion.
4) Sage essential oil: Sage essential oil, whose botanical name is Salvia sclarea, has anti-virus and anti-bacterial effects such as tea tree and eucalyptus. It also helps to purify and refresh spiritually.
It is known to be good for asthma, cough, sore throat, muscle pain, exhaustion, gas pains and stress.
5) Lavender essential oil: It is one of the most used essential oils from the past to the present with its well-loved scent and healing effects, which takes its name from the Latin word "Lavare", which means washing, cleansing.
Many studies reveal the important effects of Lavender essential oil on the body, soul and mind.
It is known to be effective against insomnia, migraine, allergy, dermatitis, itching, pain and stress as well as its calming, relaxing, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-virus effects.
6) Orange essential oil: The cheerful scent of the winter months. Orange essential oil is also the symbol of abundance and fertility.
Its scent gives energy, joy and happiness, and soothes stress. It has a balancing feature during seasonal changes and is protective against common cold.
